Trigger Point Therapy

The application of pressure on tender trigger points in the muscles to relieve pain and tension.  A trigger point is a generally small area of a muscle that is tightly knotted and in spasm causing referred pain.  This type of therapy relies heavily on client-therapist interaction, including verbal elements.  Success can be measured by the level of pain reduction experienced by the client and increased range of motion.
